Leanne’s fascination for photography is rooted in her childhood. With more than 13 years of shooting weddings and over 17 years of experience in the wedding industry, her career as a wedding photographer is built upon years of practice, teaching, shooting, experiencing, learning, producing, and travelling — along with earning numerous awards. Hailing from Tokyo, Kyoko immigrated to Canada in 1988 and studied visual arts shortly thereafter. Leanne, after completing the Langara photography program in 1997, went on to assist Kyoko with wedding photography. While Kyoko always had a penchant for photography, it wasn’t until she met her husband (who managed a fashion commercial studio back then) that she decided to pursue it full-time. Kyoko joined up with Leanne in 2004, and Leanne Pedersen Photographers Ltd. was conceived. Technically inclined and meticulous, Kyoko is known for her unflappable nature that allows her to tackle stressful situations. Specializing in contemporary, portraiture, and photojournalism styles, Leanne and Kyoko draw on each other’s distinct skill sets to create truthful, romantic, and timeless wedding images.
