About Me: The truth is, I’m entirely self-taught in Photography, yet I’ve taught a couple of Photography classes in an American international school in Guatemala City for 2 years as an elective class. I designed the full curriculum for both course levels. My Masters degree was in Instructional Curriculum and Curriculum Design. I got that in San Diego. Yes, I’m from Montreal originally, but we moved to California when I was a teenager. I’ve also lived and taught in Japan, and South Korea. There’s been a lot of travel and discovery with my camera. Teaching Photography at the international school in Guate, aligned me with a former United Nations photographer, whose son happened to attend the school. Then I began to sell my images online. This also led me to shortly thereafter quit teaching, my main area of instruction being college-prep American Literature, and after 13 years as an educator in 4 countries, I took off to India for 5 months then to Nepal for a couple more months with my camera gear in tow, And then I got published in an online Street Photography magazine. Made the cover, and was the feature article. The publisher asked me to tell the story of my photo experience in India. If you’re interested, ask me for the link to the magazine. It was pretty exciting, at the time, but let’s focus on why I’m here for you!
About You: People often ask me how I got into photographing Weddings (and Portraits). Quite simply, people and their real stories fascinate me, and I love documenting and storytelling those stories, frame upon frame. I’ve been passionate about Photography since I was a child. But upon return to Canada in 2012, after being out of the country for most of my adulthood, I decided to put my background in Social Documentary Photography and Environmental Portraiture to practical use. I’ve attended workshops in the past, and still commit to professional development trainings as the opportunity arises. And so, now I tell your stories, from the heart. The more you let me know your story, the more I can capture your beautiful Wedding moments, the best way it reflects you both, and what and who matters to you. This is what makes my work an honour, and thoroughly satisfying.
