Richard and Isabelle, a loving couple and proud parents of three children, decided to embark on a new adventure together by starting their own business, Vintage Pizza Pie Wood Fired Pizza. The idea for their pizza business came to them while they were working at a winery in Hillier, Prince Edward County back in 2011.

During their time at the winery, Richard and Isabelle had the opportunity to learn from three talented chefs who greatly influenced their culinary skills. Chef Rocco from Pizzaria Libretto’s, Terroni’s, Daniel Usher from Ortolan Toronto, and David Mattachioni from Mattachioni Restaurant all played a crucial role in teaching and training Richard and Isabelle in the art of creating traditional Neapolitan style pizza.

Inspired by their mentors, Richard and Isabelle were determined to pass on their knowledge and values to their children. They wanted to instill in them the importance of hard work, supporting local businesses, and building a strong sense of community while pursuing their passion for cooking.
