Privacy Policy

Effective and last reviewed: July 29, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how canadaweddingguide.com (“Canada Wedding Guide,” “we,” or the “site”) handles information when you browse the directory, submit a form, or otherwise contact the site.

Information you provide

Depending on the form, you may provide a name, email address, telephone number, business name, business address, website, service category, listing URL, event or campaign information, and the text of your message. Do not submit identification documents, payment-card details, private contracts, or other sensitive personal information.

Form submissions are transmitted by email to the site operator. Contact Form 7 is used to operate the forms; the site does not currently use a separate form-submission database plugin. Copies may still exist in email systems, spam controls, server logs, and operational backups.

Information collected automatically

When a page is requested, the hosting and content-delivery systems may process the IP address, request time, requested URL, referring page, browser and device information, and security or diagnostic data. This information is used to deliver pages, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and understand aggregate traffic.

Analytics and measurement

The site currently uses Google Analytics through Google Site Kit and a LiveInternet traffic counter. These services may process page views, approximate location, referral source, browser or device information, and cookies or similar identifiers. Google explains that its standard implementation can collect session statistics, approximate geolocation, and browser/device information, and that the _ga cookie can distinguish users and sessions. See Google Analytics data collection and the Google Privacy Policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser and can use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies or scripts may affect some site functions or the accuracy of aggregate measurement.

Cookies and local storage

The site or its service providers may use:

  • functional or security cookies needed for WordPress, forms, caching, and abuse prevention;
  • analytics cookies or identifiers used to measure visits and sessions; and
  • preference cookies associated with interactive features such as ratings, where used.

Your browser controls can show, block, or delete stored data. Cookies already stored remain until they expire or you remove them.

How information is used

  • responding to questions, correction requests, listing submissions, and advertising inquiries;
  • verifying and publishing directory information;
  • operating, securing, caching, and troubleshooting the site;
  • measuring aggregate readership and improving content or navigation;
  • preventing spam, fraud, or misuse; and
  • complying with legal obligations and protecting legal rights.

Service providers and disclosure

Information may be processed by providers needed to run the site, including Hostinger hosting and content delivery, email delivery, WordPress plugins used for forms and security, Google Analytics/Site Kit, and LiveInternet measurement. These providers may process data in Canada or other countries under their own terms and infrastructure.

Business profiles may also load an embedded Google Maps frame when an address is available. Loading a map can send the visitor’s IP address, browser or device information, requested page, and related technical data to Google. Google’s handling of that data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or a valid legal process, investigate misuse, protect users or the site, or complete an authorized service-provider task. We do not publish private form contact details unless the submitter asks for them to appear as public business information and the publication is appropriate.

External links and public business information

Directory listings contain public business information and links to third-party sites. Those sites control their own privacy practices. A public business telephone number or address can still involve personal information in some circumstances; correction or removal requests are reviewed using the process below.

Retention

Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, site security, correction history, dispute handling, backups, and legal obligations. Retention periods vary by system. When information is no longer required, it may be deleted, anonymized, or allowed to expire from backups according to the relevant system’s cycle.

Security

The site uses HTTPS and reasonable technical and operational safeguards, but no internet transmission, email, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Avoid sending sensitive information through public forms.

Your privacy requests

Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access, correction, or deletion. We may need enough information to verify identity and locate the record, and some information may be retained where legally permitted or required. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada explains that organizations subject to PIPEDA generally must provide access and allow challenges to accuracy, subject to exceptions. See the OPC access guidance.

For a public directory correction, use Correct or Update a Directory Listing. For a privacy request, use the contact form and clearly label the subject “Privacy request.”

Children

The site is not intended to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so the request can be reviewed and the information removed where appropriate.

Policy changes

This policy will be updated when material practices, service providers, or legal requirements change. The effective and review date at the top shows the current published version.
